**THE JOURNEY... Omega
She threw it at his car and shattered the wind
screen, he rushed for her and they continued fighting and insulting on the
road, some by-standers rushed to separate them and a neighbor took her to
their house to talk to her and Dj returned home with the neighbor’s husband. The
kind neighbor gave her tea and a towel to clean up her face. She rested a
while there, picked up her luggage, got a taxi and headed for the airport got a
ticket for Abuja, with thoughts running wild and tears rolling down her cheek
in her window seat, in her heart she said “I’m done with this mad man
for good”...
On getting home her
parents were surprised and happy to see her, as she reached to hug mom she
broke down in tears as mum tried to calm her down,
dad just walked into the
room, when he saw the mood in the room he went back to his room. Mom insisted
she showered and ate as she sobbed she slept off. The next day she told her parents what had
happened, they listened and prayed with her and let her stay to recuperate, as
they surrounded her with love. In the following days her physical and emotional
health improved and so did her moods her mum decided to speak with her on the
issue, well it took several days to counsel her and she agreed to return back
home, her mom called Dj and he scheduled to come the following weekend. He came
as planned and spoke to Hanne’s mom and she counseled him and they decided they
both would return back to Portharcout the following day. Not to mention Dj’s
father was so disappointed, because he would call to ask of their well being and
Dj’s response was always upbeat.
They returned home to
separate rooms, separate lives and malice which continued for 6 months until
Hanne’ mother came for a wedding in Portharcourt and came to see them, she
spent time praying and counseling them and he promised never to hit his wife
again. After her mother’s departure, Dj
made conscious effort to break the malice, it got on a bumpy start as Hanne was
unyielding, slowly and surely he kept at it till she caved in, and 8 month down
the line they became the chirpy love birds again. Later Hanne started putting
on weight and her face getting fresh and beautiful, little did we know that
twin boys were on the way…*big smile* as they say the rest is history. As I
spoke with her on the phone today, while going over this article, and I was
asking a couple of questions, to which she answered when all this things were
happening in my life, I was sure I missed God on this marriage decision because
it felt like a huge, deep and dark cloud that wouldn’t go away but somewhere in
my heart I saw a light that gave me hope that this would soon be over, but how
soon I couldn’t say. She called my name and said after 12 years together 3
children, we both have thriving careers; I can only say I married the right man
and I find peace in the life I am living now. Laughing she said, “in all what we were going
through before the street show, we looked like the happy couple wherever we went.
She said even when God leads it not always a smooth ride, but in marriage when
the first wine is exhausted, hold on on for God will always show up with the
second, which always tastes better.
I am
thankful she shared this story, she hopes this would inspire someone or anyone
in similar situation.
Have a lovely
weekend folks!!
Love in Warri! Lol
